3D Assays for Drug Testing and Drug Delivery Systems based on Hybrid-Materials

Hybrid polymers (ORMOCER^®s) are promising systems for applications in nanobiomedicine and regenerative therapies. Specific cell interactions are controlled by material structures.
Silicon-based materials are functionalized and optimized by micro- and nanostructuring methods as well as chemical modification. Further research focuses on the adaptation of drug delivery systems and scaffolds for application in regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. This includes their further development to biosensor systems.
